Dear God I pray for all those who are sick or unwell around the world. I pray for those who have not yet seen your glorious light. Give them faith to take that step with you. Amen

Teach us to love one another as brother and sister, for we are all your children. Amen

Dear Lord, thank you for everything you have blessed me with. Help me to appreciate all I have and never forget those who are not as fortunate. Amen

Dear God thank you for all animals especially Guinea pigs look after my guinea pig while I am on holiday. Amen

Dear God, please look after my Granddad in heaven and look after my family. Amen

Dear God, thank you for a pet guinea pig but please look for a lizard for me please.

Dear God, thank you for looking after my cousin and my rabbit. I hope you keep them well. And my best friend and keep her safe and careful.

Dear Lord, help people to stop using verbal abuse, drugs, cigarettes, and to decrease their intake level of alcohol.

Jesus accepts me as I am, people want me to be like them. I want to be free. To be me – that

freedom is only in Jesus.

Dear father in heaven, thank you for my life the sorrows and the joys thank you for bringing me to you through your son Jesus. Father I love you and will try to walk in your ways always.

Father forgive us for taking the freedom we have to worship you for granted.

Lord if only we made the effort to see life through the eyes of others, others who suffer, and struggle for every small need surely we would become more like the society we should be forgive us our selfishness. Amen

Hold me by the hand, love me father.

My God, my saviour my master, how can you call me friend.

I am frightened by your ways – they are strange to me – it hurts to love so much.

The following prayer comes from the heart of one of our young people

(15 years old)

During the all night vigil on the Friday Fury night.

Spread your arms wide,

Open them wide, Lord,

Like the wings of an eagle,

Spread your wings, Lord

Spread them so wide you grasp the Earth

The Earth and all its people.

Hold them in your arms Lord

Hold them tight

Hold them close

Hold them as followers

Hold them as your servants

But mostly hold them as your friends.

Not only followers and servants to you.

But also your best friends.

You are the best friend to all,

Not just a casual acquaintance,

You demand to be noticed.

You should be asked first

You should be the first to hear our worries

First to hear our fears and dreams

But often you are a last resort.

A sort of fair-weather friend for bad times.

Only the best friend when every other option has been exhausted.

You should be consulted about everything

Even if it’s nothing

As everything that is important to me is important to you.

You make a fuss.

You care about even the little things

And often those, the little things

Are the most important, next time

But you’re not just the shoulder to cry on, Lord

You’re also the host of the party

The 1^st to congratulate me

For whatever good

I have done.

You throw the biggest party in the Heavens and the Earth

Everyone’s invited.

You’re the driving force making me succeed again.

You encourage my every dream and comfort me after failures.

I’m not afraid of failure.

Failure makes you learn and you’re my teacher

My teacher my best friend!

And he’s God!

What a way to learn!

You teach me everything

Good from Bad -

 Right from Wrong

My morals and my ideals are influenced by you.

Everything is because of you.

You teach me modesty and pride

When to be courageous and when to be realistic

To fight the wrong, stand up for the right.

Protect the unprotected.

As you protect me.

My friend, my teacher

My police and my God.

You protect me from hate, anger, and evil.

You help me rise above it.

You are my shield for defence and my sword for attack.

My defence from my anger, my own hatred.

I sin

Everyone sins

But you protect us from our sins,

You have protected us,

You have saved us,

You have given your son,

You have died for us,

We don’t deserve this,

We are not worthy.

Come on, I’m only your student!

Oh yeah, and your best friend.

And I like to think I would die for you, my best friend,

That I’d die for my friends on Earth too.

The great friends you have blessed me with.

I don’t deserve them either.

Help me to be a good friend to them,

As they are to me.

To be there in their times of need,

To talk to them when they need to talk.

To be their shoulder to cry on when it’s all too much.

nd to hold them, tight and close.

When they need to be held.

When they need you.

I will guide them to you if they need guided.

I want to be to them as you are to me,

The best friend anyone could ever want.

Why can’t everyone just be friends?

Surely our little differences are nothing compared to our big similarities.

There are Wars fought over you.

Both sides so similar.

So why? 

It’s that they don’t understand you,

Or a mistranslation somewhere?

Coz it’s all the same God

The one and only,

You.

But thank you God for keeping my life so carefree,

I mean, I have my dilemmas, my troubles, and those difficult decisions.

But nothing compared to some people.

For that I am thankful

Please help those who are worse off.

Look over my family and my friends,

I love them,

More than I can explain to them in words

They are a blessing,

and for them I am truly thankful
